New book pick for January

The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness (YAFiction)
In a future where everyone, including animals, can hear eachothers every thought, eleven year old Todd Hewitt stumbles upon a silence in the "noise". This silence shatters his naive view of the town that he lives in as well as its history. This is a fast paced sci-fi novel with a very humorous opening. The cliff hanger ending leaves me wanting more (of course it will be at least a trilogy). In our present times of constant information, this book is a scary look at what could be.
